Family Slow-Travel Itinerary

Arrive at noon. Check into hotel near the historic center. Focus on hydration and resting to manage altitude.
Gentle acclimation day. Plaza de Armas, local markets, stroller-friendly loops. Early bedtime.
Drive down to the Sacred Valley (~1.5–2 hrs). Settle in and explore the town at a relaxed pace.
Train to Aguas Calientes, visit Machu Picchu, train back to Ollantaytambo. The big day.
Intentionally unplanned. Recover from Machu Picchu, explore the town, let the kid play.
Drive back to Cusco from Ollantaytambo. Settle in and prep for Brazil.
Cusco → Manaus (likely via Lima). Overnight in Manaus to break up the travel.
Arrive and overnight in Manaus. Rest up after the flight from Peru.
Morning transfer to your lodge. Afternoon: settle in, lunch, and a gentle sunset boat ride.
AM: One guided activity (canoe/wildlife).
Midday: Lunch + Nap/Pool time.
PM: Gentle short walk or plant-focused activity.
Morning at the lodge, transfer back to Manaus. Overnight in the city.
Depart Manaus. End of an incredible family adventure.
